Carats
One metric carat is 0.2 grams. The word comes from the carob seed once used to weigh stones. The seed was no wonder, only a handy weight.
A carat (ct) is not a gold fineness (K). An eighteen-karat ring means the alloy, not the size of the stone. Millimetres and carats are two different sentences.
