What it actually is
Platinum is Pt before it is a story. The lattice is cubic, Mohs 4–4.5, and the eye meets white.
The better pieces still come out of the ground in South Africa, Russia, Colombia. Colombia shipped platina, little silver, to Europe in the eighteenth century, before the reefs of South Africa.
What the old tradition whispers
The parlour tradition ties Platinum to aether and to the crown centre. The old site stood it near: Aquarius, Libra.
How not to turn it to ash
Clean gold and platinum gently. Silver darkens in air — chemistry, not a curse. Use a cloth, not grit.
