Shapes
Old dealers said shape changes how a stone “radiates”. Below is their vocabulary, not physics.
Point
Dealers stood a point in a corner, as if it showed where the room had not yet decided.
Palm stone
Smooth, and it fits a fist. People carried it in a pocket, not as a seal.
Sphere
A sphere has no corner to take offence at. That is why people scryed with one.
Egg
In the parlour an egg meant a beginning that did not yet have a name.
Pyramid
Four sides and an apex. People set it on a table like a small, silent house.
Heart
A heart shape is the language of a gift, not anatomy. It is most often cut from rose quartz.
Donut
The hole in the middle was said to let a look pass through instead of stopping.
Cube
A cube is the shape of an account: six even faces, no secret in the corners. Pyrite cubes arrive that way from the ground.
